Watch Them Tear Up The Pool: Re-live All Women’s World Record Races

We captured all of the men’s world record race videos to help us channel our pre-U.S. Olympic Trials energy, but now let’s hear it for the women.  As with the men, it’s unlikely that any of these will fall in Omaha, but then again, Katie Ledecky will be there and we know what happens virtually every time she dives into the pool. She’s a primary reason we’ve ranked the women’s 400m and 800m freestyle world marks as the top 2 on record death watch.

Missy Franklin‘s inspiring 200m backstroke performance at the 2012 Olympic Games is among the race videos seen below, and the star will be tackling that same event, along with the 100m back, 100m free and 200m freestyle in Omaha. Allison Schmitt and Dana Vollmer were on the record-setting 400m medley relay from London along with Franklin and will also be looking to notch Rio roster spots at CenturyLink over the 7-day Olympic Trials meet.

Keep your blood pressure in check as you re-live the spectacular moments in women’s swimming, which may even be topped by the end of 2016 by the enormous talent embedded all over the world.

Thank you to SwimSwam reader BOKNOWS34 for link compilation.

It’s a little creepy when the German announcer refers to Britta Steffan as the “fuhrer” (leader).

Great videos all around, thanks! To me, even more shocking than Ye’s shocking final 100 in the 4IM was the way Ledecky flat out SPRINTED at the end of her 800 and 1500 records!! This obviously hints at excellent potential for her to break both of those records either next week and/or in Rio.

Plus, if/when she decides to really make a go of the 4IM while fully tapered, I have no doubt she can beat Ye’s final 100 split there too.
