The Universiy of Hawaii swimming & diving team has released its 2018 hype video. The short film is courtesy of the YouTube channel Videosophy by Jonas.
Shot by senior Jonas Gutzat, alum Connor Trimble, and strength and conditioning grad assistant Taylor Johnson, the hype video showcases U Hawaii’s beautiful facilities and focuses on the work put in by their swimmers and divers.
Hawaii had a remarkable 2017-18 season, highlighted by several post-season appearances at the 2018 NCAA Championships and a conference championship on the women’s side.
The Rainbow Warrier women won the 2018 MPSF title by over 200 points. In the post-season, senior Franziska Weidner claimed 7th place in the 100 breast to earn All-American status, while sophomore Phoebe Hines finished 12th in the 1650 free. Additionally, senior Madison Sthaman placed 6th in the platform diving event. Hawaii finished the meet in 28th place with 29.5 points.
The men finished 36th at the 2018 NCAA Men’s Championships, lifted by junior Metin Aydin‘s 11th place finish in the 200 back. The men’s team also produced a 2nd place finish at the 2018 MPSF Championships, less than 50 points back of the champions UCSB.

Seriously though, who wouldn’t want a chance to swim in Hawaii (or go to school there). Awesome!
The Men’s team pre-meet team cheer is rather impressive. A cheer that draws full attention from the MPSF crowds every year.
