Andrew Rogers from the Arkansas Dolphins Swim Team cranked out another National Age Group Record tonight in the boys’ 10&U 100 meter butterfly. In recording his new mark of 1:05.08, Rogers shredded his own NAG record from prelims (1:06.52) en route to becoming the first 10&U male swimmer to ever break the 1:06-barrier in the event.
Read more about Rogers’ history-making feat here, but prepare to be awestruck catching the youngster in action out of lane 4 in the race video.
Are you planning to go 58.74 when you turn 12 (Age group record for 11-12 Years old Long course 100 Butterfly)?
That’s crazy fast for a 10 year old. Heck, for a 10 year old, 1:05 is great for 100 YARD fly. Well done Andrew!
The last line says that lane 5 was Andrew, however Andrew was in lane 4 and 9 year old, Cooper Lucas was in 5
Wow. Once he masters underwaters (and given his his body undulation, he will), he’ll be unstoppable.
Our French 100 fly NAG record for 12-year-old boys is 1.07.02.
10-year-old Andrew Rogers swam 1.05.98.
😆
Crazy fast.
Congrats to him.
Yes it’s fun to swim fast at a young age and we are so proud of Andrew’s accomplishments to this point.
We believe here in LR that long term progression is the way to go.
Swimming fast in our older years is fun too. We preach it daily.
We want our kids swimming fast in high school, college and beyond.
If they’re best years are in the 12&under age groups, we’ve missed the mark.
GREAT philosophy. Definitely, your approach is the best way and smartest way. Congratulations for Andrew’s fantastic performances! Onwards and upwards!
Thanks for sharing Coach E. Great attitude and philosophy about swimming!
Can I ask what type of training you do with the team, is it primarily traditional or more USRPT? Thanks!
Andrew looked stronger than the earlier swim. Coach, what are the time goals once he ages up to 11&12? Definitely a sub-60?
