Highlighting the competition on the men’s side was seven-time high school state champion and Texas commit Will Modglin from Zionsville Swim Club. Modglin took on a full schedule of six individual events, including the 100 backstroke which is the event he recently broke National High School record in. Modglin posted a 45.09 in finals, putting him just a hundredth shy of the record he set at the High School State meet.

He also notched a personal best time in the 200 freestyle by nearly two seconds to post a 1:35.96, and a best time by about half a second in the 100 free (43.27).
Rounding out his victories was the 50 free, where he undercut his personal best by less than a tenth (19.56), and the the 100 fly, which was the only event besides the 100 backstroke that he added time in (47.77).
Other standout athletes on the boys’ side included Highland Hurricanes’ Josh Bey, who won the 400 IM (3:50.09), 200 breast (1:57.31), and 200 IM (1:49.10). His 400 IM was a PB by four seconds, while his 200 breaststroke was a two second time drop. Additionally, he notched best times in the 100 fly (50.41) and 100 back (50.05), taking three seconds off in both.
Fisher Area’s Luke Whitlock was another multiple event-winner for the boys, as he swept the distance freestyle events. The Louisville recruit took nearly 10 seconds off his PB in the 1650 to win the event by well over thirty seconds (15:01.79).
