Day Two results

500 Yard Freestyle

3. Hannah Snyder, Towson, 4:51.57

James Madison sophomore Quinn MacMillan avenged her fourth place finish of 2015 with a win in the women’s 500 free, going 4:48.75. Delaware senior Dominique Montoya was runner-up with 4:50.97. Senior Hannah Snyder of Towson, who won the consolation final in 2015, earned the bronze medal with 4:51.57.

With four swimmers in the championship final of the 500 free, William and Mary leapt past Drexel for the lead in the men’s standings. Freshman Eric Grimes picked up the win with 4:25.35, just off his prelims time. Defending champion, Delaware junior Cory Camp, was second in 4:25.80, while the Tribe’s Conrad Zamparello took third with 4:28.08.

200 Yard Individual Medley

1. Katie Parker, James Madison, 2:00.26
2. Charlotte Holz, Towson, 2:00.97
3. Shannon Harper, James Madison, 2:02.85

JMU closed the gap with William and Mary with a 1-3 finish in the women’s 200 IM. Sophomore Katie Parker, fifth last year, out-touched defending champion Charlotte Holz of Towson, 2:00.26 to 2:00.97, for the title. Parker outsplit the field by 2 seconds in the breaststroke to take the lead, and was able to hold on despite Holz’s 28.0 final 50. Teammate Shannon Harper placed third with 2:02.85.

The men’s race was a huge boost to William and Mary’s team score, as seniors Jeremiah O’Donnell (1:47.28) and Will Manion (1:47.51), and junior Alex Montes de Oca (1:48.57) swept the podium. The Tribe had six of the eight lanes in the championship final. It was the second year in a row that the trio finished in the exact same positions.

50 Yard Freestyle

1. Jaimie Miller, William and Mary, 22.54
2. Morgan Whyte, Delaware, 22.66
3. Camilla Czulada, James Madison, 23.03

In a reversal of last year’s gold- and silver-medal finishes, junior Jaimie Miller of William and Mary edged Delaware senior Morgan Whyte for the win. Miller touched in 22.54 to Whytes’s 22.66; Camilla Czulada of James Madison, tenth last year, rounded out the podium with 23.03.

Drexel senior Joel Berryman earned his second straight CAA title in the 50 free, going 20.02 to touch out William and Mary teammates Evan Baker (20.18) and Joseph Eiden (20.45).

200 Yard Freestyle Relay

1. William and Mary, 1:31.22
2. James Madison, 1:32.28
3. Delaware, 1:33.19

Annie Miller (23.09), Jess Crowley (23.17), Noelle Klockner (23.00), and Miller (21.96) combined to give the Tribe a 1:31.22 victory in the women’s 200 free relay over JMU (1:32.28) and Delaware (1:33.19).

William and Mary claimed the men’s race, too, with Evan Baker (20.25), Eiden (19.82), Kyle Neri (19.60), and Justin Barden (19.73) clocking a combined 1:19.40. Drexel edged Delaware, 1:21.64 to 1:21.70, for second.
