The Tribe of William and Mary recently got commitments from two middle-distance recruits; Lakeside Swim Team’s Lee Bradley and Williamsburg Aquatic Club’s Colin Wright.

Bradley is a jack of all trades who will contribute at the conference level in backstroke:

  • 200 free- 1:41.67
  • 500 free- 4:41.54
  • 100 backstroke- 51.18
  • 200 backstroke- 1:51.59
  • 400 IM- 4:10.19

That personal best in the 100 backstroke would have put him in a scoring position at last year’s CAA Championship. It was one of the strongest events for the Tribe last year, as they put two swimmers in the top four. William and Mary won their first ever CAA Championship in 2015 and will look to Bradley to give them depth across a wide range of events. Bradley was a High School star for the Louisville Collegiate School, finishing runner-up two years in a row at the state championship in 100 freestyle.

Colin Wright hails from the local area, specializing primarily in freestyle events

  • 50 freestyle- 21.57
  • 100 freestyle- 47.41
  • 200 freestyle- 1:43.73
  • 100 butterfly- 51.82

Wright was a stalwart for Jamestown High School last year, winning a state 4A championship in the 50 freestyle. Jamestown would go on two finish second in the meet. While none of his times project well into the CAA conference right now, coach Matt Crispino and his staff have likely seen a lot of Wright racing and training locally and believe in his potential. He joins his high school and club teammate Margaret Williams as part of the Tribe’s next class.

Colin and Margaret used to swim for other clubs in the area, but now swim for Williamsburg’s newest club, 757swim. Congrats to both of them!
