Finishing off the last individual race of her life, Williams senior Olivia Jackson unleashed a lifetime best 1:55.83 to take down the D3 record.

Before this meet, Jackson had never broken 1:57– her best time before this weekend was a 1:57.24 from the 2015 NCAA Champs when she won the D3 title. Jackson was 10th in this event her freshman year, won it her sophomore year in 2015, then was denied a repeat title last season by St. Thomas’s Emma Paulson.
This year, though, Jackson left nothing to doubt. She had already gone a big best time of 1:56.43 in prelims, and while touching behind Paulson at the 100 mark, she went 29.1/29.6 on the back half to obliterate the field and roar to the finish.
Her time of 1:55.83 broke the Division 3 national record, which was a 1:56.23 that had just eluded her in prelims. To make the victory even sweeter– the record was set in 2008 by Brittany Sasser, who swam for Williams’ NESCAC rival Amherst. Jackson finishes her career at Williams with two individual 200 back titles, along with several All-American swims.
