“I’m extremely excited and humbled to announce my commitment to swim and study at Harvard University. Huge thanks to my parents, friends, and coaches who have supported me along the way. Go crimson!”
Aistars was originally committed to stay in-state at the University of Southern California. As recently as December 2021, he was pictured with other USC class of 2026 commits at Winter Juniors West.
He also has recently made a club swimming change switching from the Mission Viejo Nadadores to Irvine Novaquatics. Most recently, Aistars competed at the Road to 2022 Senior Invitational. There Aistars was just off his 50 freestyle best time of 20.71 as he swam to a time of 20.87 to be the top seed headed into finals. In finals, he won the 50 freestyle swimming to a long course best time of 24.11.
Aistars competed at Winter Juniors West in December. There he made the ‘A’ final of the 500 freestyle swimming a time of 4:24.48 in prelims and 4:26.07 in finals earning him an eighth place finish. He also qualified for the ‘B’ final of the 200 freestyle after swimming a time of 1:38.14 in prelims. In finals, he swam a time of 1:38.71 to earn a 15th place finish.
Aistars is in his senior year at Tesoro High School out of Las Flores, CA. In May 2021, Aistars earned second place in both the 100 (44.83) and 200 (1:36.55) freestyles at the CIF Southern Division 1 (big schools) Sectional Championships.
Since committing to USC back in February 2021, Aistars has dropped time in every freestyle event but the mile.
USC Commitment | Harvard Commitment | Time Difference | |
50 freestyle | 21.37 | 20.71 | -0.66 |
100 freestyle | 45.96 | 44.83 | -1.13 |
200 freestyle | 1:39.31 | 1:36.55 | -2.76 |
500 freestyle | 4:28.67 | 4:24.48 | -4.19 |

Harvard University is a private university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The school is a member of the Ivy League. The Harvard men won the 2020 Ivy League Championship (the 2021 season was canceled for all Ivy League schools due to COVID-19).
Based on his best times, Aistars has the potential to add to Harvard’s points at the conference level. His best times would earn him a spot in the ‘A’ final of the 200 freestyle, the ‘B’ final of the 500 freestyle, and the ‘C’ final of the 50 and 100 freestyles. His best time also would place him top 16 in the 1650 freestyle.
Aistars will arrive on campus next fall and look to fill the gap that Corban Rawls left in the 200 freestyle. Rawls won the 200 freestyle at the 2020 Ivy League Championships but has since graduated. Aistars best time in the 200 freestyle would place him second on the roster this year only behind senior Dean Farris who swam a time of 1:35.57.
Aistars joins the class of 2026 along with breaststroker Saavan Sash, sprinter Raglan Ward, and backstroker Ross Noble.

just clarifying, did he make the A final for the 200 or 500?
He’s a good kid. I remember coaching him when he was 12-13 years old. He’ll go far anywhere he goes. Harvard should be thrilled!
USC dodged a bullet. Classless 👎
