Winter Juniors A-Finalist Kasia Norman Sends Verbal to Alabama for 2021-22

Kasia Norman, a high school junior from Holland, Michigan, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Alabama for 2021-22. Norman is a junior at Black River High School, which does not sponsor a swim team. She does her club swimming with Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics.

Norman was an A-finalist at her first national-level meet, the 2018 Winter Junior Championships East in Greensboro. There, she dropped 1.6 seconds in prelims of the 100 breast to make the A final with 1:00.96. She ended up 7th with 1:01.76. At this year’s meet she won the C final in the 100 breast, swam the 50 free individual event, and contributed to four MLA relays.

This summer, she was runner-up in the 50/100 breast and placed 7th in the 200 breast and 8th in the 50 free at Michigan Swimming LSC Senior Long Course Championships. She wrapped up the LCM season with PBs in the 50/100 free, 50 fly, and 200 IM.

Norman’s best SCY 100 breast time would have scored in the C final at 2019 SEC Championships. It took 22.66/49.63 to get a second swim in the 50/100 free.

• 50 free – 23.67 / 26.95
• 100 free – 52.52 / 1:01.14
