Ericksen has qualified for Winter Junior Nationals with a 2:09.54 in the 200 backstroke that he achieved at the end of this past summer. He has also been a state finalist in the 500 freestyle for Turpin High School.
I chose the University of Cincinnati because of the coaches’ high energy and I really bonded with the team. Academically, the school fit me perfectly. I believe the University of Cincinnati is a good match for me
Ericksen’s 500 freestyle time would have put him in the B-Final of last year’s American Swimming Championship, as would his 200 backstroke, so Ericksen will be an immediate contributor at the conference level for the Bearcats. Ericksen also projects to be a top student for Cincinnati, in the past year he has been awarded as both a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and an AP Scholar with Distinction.
