She is the youngest of four siblings, each of whom competed at the collegiate level. Emma Szczupakiewicz was a member of Miami’s class of 2016, Joe Szczupakiewicz swam for Michigan State’s class of 2018, and Ellie Szczupakiewicz is beginning her senior year the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Erin Szczupakiewicz swims club at Waukesha Express Swim and she is entering her senior year at Muskego High School, where she swims for her mother, Coach Heidi Szczupakiewicz.

“Miami is a great balance between outstanding academics and competitive athletics along with incredible facilities and a beautiful campus.”

Szczupakiewicz competed at the WIAA Girls DI Sectionals – Madison in November. She swam the 100 fly and the 500 free, and she took part in Muskego High School’s 200 medley and 400 free relays. The high school junior won the 100 fly by 4.26 seconds, touching in 56.01. She went on to place third in the 500 free, powering to the wall in a new personal best time of 5:03.39. She swam the butterfly leg of Muskego’s 200 medley relay and she led off the 400 free relay, which finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

A week later, she swam at the WIAA Girls DI State Championships in the 100 fly and the 500 free. She placed 5th in the 100 fly (55.87) and went 0.24 seconds faster than she had the previous week. Her 500 free time of 4:58.00 earned her the bronze medal and a personal best time. Muskego’s 400 relay consisting of Szczupakiewicz, Kate LarsenAbigail Bangs, and Grace Mayes touched 4th.

In March, Szczupakiewicz competed at the Wisconsin 13&O SCY State Champs. She was entered in the 200 and 500 free, the 100 back, and the 100 and 200 fly. She finished within the top eight in four of her events, and she ended the meet with new personal best times in the 200 and 500 free, the 50 back, and the 200 fly.

Top SCY Times:

  • 100 fly – 55.57
  • 200 fly – 2:03.50
  • 50 back – 26.98
  • 100 back – 56.11
  • 200 back – 2:03.93

The Miami University RedHawks will welcome Szczupakiewicz in the fall of 2021. She will be one of their top butterfliers, as she would have been ranked 2nd in the 100 fly and 3rd in the 200 fly in the 2019-2020 season. Her top times would have placed her in the B-final in the 100 back and the 100 and 200 fly at the 2020 Mid-American Championships.

Miami has already received multiple verbals from women for their class of 2025, including Emily RinkerLauren Murray, Maggie Stock, and Taylor Connors.
