Xavier Snags Verbal from 2020 Swimming and Diving Class A Champ Alexis Worrall

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Alexis Worrall of Victor, NY has announced her decision to swim for the Xavier University Musketeers beginning in the 2021-2022 season. Worrall is a member of the Fairport Area Swim Team and she is a four-year varsity letter winner at Victor High School.

I was very impressed with Xavier’s swim program, the coach and positive attitude of all the swimmers.  I also feel that I will get a well-rounded, strong education there as well.

Worrall competed at the 2020 Swimming and Diving Class A Championships in November of 2020, representing Victor High School. She earned four gold medals at her final high school meet. She went a 24.16 in the 50 free, taking 0.87 seconds off of her entry time and touching 0.19 seconds ahead of Nora Smillie of Pittsford High School. Worrall took off 1.6 seconds from her 100 free entry time, powering to the wall in a time of 52.44.

Worrall anchored both the 200 free and 400 free relays for Victor High, splitting a 23.68 and 51.97. Victor High School finished second behind Pittsford High School. Worrall and teammate Erin DeHollander were two of the meet’s top scorers, both earning 40 points for their school.

Worrall is a four-time All-Greater Rochester team member and a New York State Federation Championships finalist.

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 free – 23.74
  • 100 free – 51.93
  • 200 free – 1:54.19
  • 100 back – 59.38
  • 200 back – 2:09.53

Worrall will join the Musketeers in the fall of 2021, with an interest in pursuing a degree in Psychology. She would have contributed to Xavier University’s third-place finish at the 2020 Big East Conference Championships last season. Her 50 free would have placed her in the A-final while her 100 free would have earned her a spot in the B-final.

She would have been Xavier’s fifth-fastest 50 freestyler and their sixth-fastest 100 freestyler during the 2019-2020 season. Emily Conners, Emily Saugstad, Abigail Garner, and Maureen Cummins – four of the team’s top sprinters- will have graduated by the time Worrall arrives on campus.

Xavier University has already picked up verbals from Molly Dynda, Maddie Agans, and Kiara Anchrum for its class of 2025.
