Xu Jiayu and Shi Jinglin post top-5 world times on day 6 of Chinese Trials

Day 6 of Chinese Nationals was highlighted by a pair of 200 strokers who put up times ranked in the top 5 in the world.

Rising backstroker Xu Jiayu struck first, going 1:56.26 to win the men’s 200 back and move to #3 in the world this year. That’s a season-best for Xu, who was previously ranked 6th, but he’s still got plenty ground to cover to catch world leader Ryosuke Irie of Japan.
