The Yale women’s swimming and diving team capped off a strong performance vs. Southern Connecticut by winning both diving events at Kiphuth Pool on Friday.

Samantha Ho was the winner in the 3-meter diving, posting a score of 268.95 points.

In the 1-meter, Marisa Conner placed first with 293.85 points. Yale had the top three finishers.

In the swimming events on Thursday, the Bulldogs recorded the top time in every one of the 22 events.

The Bulldogs swept the freestyle events. Sophomore Olivia Paoletti (10:39.10), sophomore Alessandra Baldari (5:03.83) and captain Kendall Brent (1:55.03) won the 1000-yard, 500-yard and 200-yard freestyle, respectively. First-year Ophelia Pilkinton placed first in the 100-yard freestyle (53.24) and sophomore Raime Jones won the 50-yard sprint (24.89). Jones also took first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:05.15).

The other three individual events on the day were 200-yard events. Senior Cha O’Leary won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.67, and junior Cate Sawkins placed first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.39). Senior Bebe Thompson recorded the top time in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.93).

Yale is now off until Jan. 11 when the Bulldogs host Penn and Dartmouth.

The Yale men’s swimming and diving team completed a convincing victory over Southern Connecticut by sweeping the diving events on Friday.

The Bulldogs dominated the diving.. Yale had the top four finishers on the 1-meter board, led by Christian DeVol (348 points).

In the 3-meter event. The Bulldogs also had the top four finishers. The winner was Jean Paul Ditto with 391.43 points.

The meet began with the swimming events on Thursday. Relays have been where Yale has shined all year and Thursday was no different. The powerhouse 200-yard medley relay contingent of senior Henry Gaissert, sophomore Liam Bogart, sophomore Michael Blank, and sophomore Philippe Marcoux took first with a strong 1:32.22 time.

First-year Connor Lee made his presence felt in the 200-yard freestyle, sweeping the field with a blistering time of 1:41.20. Captain Matt Slabe was not far behind, taking second with a 1:42.20 finish. First-year phenom Blank further added to his dominant day by finishing first in the 50-yard freestyle with 21.10 time.

Lee and Blank were not the only impressive first years, as Joseph Page was the winner of the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:54.16. Determined to not let the first years steal the show, Gaissert finished first in the 200-yard butterfly with a 1:51.95 time. Fellow senior Duncan Lee took home the first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a swift 47.11 time.

In the 200-yard backstroke, sophomore Christian Bell was victorious with a 1:50.27 finish. The final first-year to be impressive was Jack E. O’Connor. He placed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:45.82 time.

Yale is now off until Jan. 11 when the Bulldogs host Penn and Dartmouth.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women’s swimming & diving team completed the swimming portion of its meet against Yale, with the diving events slated for Friday, Dec. 6. Yale led the first day with a score of 132-68.

200 Yard Medley Relay

1000 Yard Freestyle

  • Avery Fornaciari was the Owls’ top finisher in 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:41.15, which blitzed past her season-best time of 10:56.78 against UConn.

200 Yard Freestyle

  • Nicole Cislo finished the 200 Yard Freestyle race in 2:03.67 for fourth place, and a individual season-best time. Cislo’s previous best time came against Fairfield at 2:06.49.

50 Yard Freestyle

  • Tess DiDomenico finished third with a individual season-best 25.96, followed by Emily Darroch in fourth at 26.18, which was also her best time of the season.

200 Yard Individual Medley

  • Erin Leirey led the Owls in the 200 Yard IM with a third-place finished at 2:15.73. Leirey’s finish is the Owls’ top time this season in the event, passing Maddie Dean’s 2:18.19 against Iona.

200 Yard Butterfly

100 Yard Freestyle

  • Alina Tucker finished third overall in the 100 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 55.93, for her second-best time of the season.

200 Yard Backstroke

500 Yard Freestyle

  • Emily Darroch was the Owls’ top finisher in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:27.20.

200 Yard Breaststroke

  • With Yale swimming exhibition, Nicole Cislo was the Owls’ top finished at 2:35.76, which would have been the second-best time in the event. Rebekah Lockery was close behind at 2:36.02.

200 Yard Freestyle Relay

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men’s swimming & diving team completed the swimming portion of its meet against Yale, with the diving events slated for Friday, Dec. 6. Yale led the first day with a score of 128-67.

Bryce Castellone picked up the Owls’ lone win in the meet as he captured the 1000 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 9:42.03.

200 Yard Medley Relay

  • Southern’s 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Chandler TuckerMatthew Widlar, Leo Laporte and Tyler Cusano placed third with a season-best time of 1:37.69. The mark passed Southern’s time of 1:37.98 against WPI and Coast Guard and Franklin & Marshall.

1000 Yard Freestyle

  • Bryce Castellone won the 1,000 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 9:42.03 while Evan Bombery was fourth. Castellone’s time is a season-best, passing his time of 9:47.29 against WPI, Coast Guard and Franklin & Marshall.

200 Yard Freestyle

  • Chandler Tucker was Southern’s top swimmer in the 200 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 1:46.58 for fourth place.

50 Yard Freestyle

  • Colby Delia clocked in a 22.26 in the 50 Yard Freestyle for third place. Delia’s time is a new season-best time for the Owls as it passes Tyler Cusano’s time of 22.48 against Pace.

200 Yard Individual Medley

  • Bailey Peters finished the 200 Yard IM in 2:08.22 for fourth place.

200 Yard Butterfly

  • Leo Laporte was Southern’s top finisher in the 200 Yard Butterfly race with a time of 1:58.59.

100 Yard Freestyle

  • Delia posted a team-best time of 50.14 for fourth place in the 10 Yard Freestyle.

200 Yard Backstroke

  • John Gaudio’s 2:08.04 in the 200 Yard Backstroke was good for fourth place.

500 Yard Freestyle

  • Chandler Tucker turned the Owls’ second-best performance of the meet with a second-place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:48.82.

200 Yard Breaststroke

  • With Yale swimming as an exhibition, Matthew Widlar swam a 2:19.08 in the 200 Yard Breaststroke for Southern’s top time in the event.
