NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women’s swimming and diving team completed a perfect opening weekend by cruising to a 221-79 victory over UMass at Kiphuth Exhibition Pool. The Bulldogs won 15 events on the day.
First year Lilly Derivaux was a triple winner, capturing the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 100 freestyle. Junseo Kim (50 and 200 freestyle) and Alex Massey (200 backstroke and 200 IM) both won two events.
The Bulldogs had opened the season with a victory over Brown on Friday.
Yale races at Columbia on Friday. Diving begins at 5 p.m. followed by the swimming events.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – It was an outstanding opening weekend for the Yale men’s swimming and diving team. One day after beating Brown, the Bulldogs completed a perfect weekend with a 226-71 victory over UMass at Kiphuth Exhibition Pool.
Yale won 15 events on the day.
First year Jose Cano and Justin Whang were double winners. Cano captured the 100 and 200 freestyle, while Wang won the 200 backstroke and the 200 IM.
The Bulldogs are back home next Saturday, hosting Columbia.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The University of Massachusetts swimming and diving team fell at Yale on Saturday afternoon. The Minutewomen were defeated by the Bulldogs in the team scoring 221-79 while the Minutemen fell by a score of 226-71.
One-Two In The 100 Breaststroke
Jack Artis led a one-two Minuteman finish in the 100 Breast with a winning swim of 58.65 while Freddie Borg took second with a time of 59.52.
Diving Results
Emma Petrovich won the 3-Meter Dive with a top score of 271.13 and added a fourth-place finish in the 1-Meter Dive.
Andrew Bell led the Minuteman divers with a pair of top-three finishes, taking second in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 293.10 before finishing third in the 3-Meter with a mark of 282.45. Tommy Cotner added a third-place showing in the 1-Meter with a score of 276.00.
Top Finishes
Beatriz Olivieri claimed a pair of runner-up finishes for the Minutewomen, first in the 200 Fly with the second fastest time of 2:05.46. Olivieri led two Minutewomen in the top-three of the 100 Fly with a time of 57.47 to take second with Summer Pierce in third. Caroline Mahoney clocked in a time of 52.80 to take second in the 100 Free with Megan Mitchell posting a runner-up time of 2:02.52 in the 200 Back. Olivia Mozoki added a second-place finish of 2:29.55 in the 200 Breast.
Emerson Kiefer added a runner-up finish for the Minutemen in the 500 Free with a time of 4:43.19.
