Beverly, MA – The YMCA of the North Shore is pleased to announce that David Modzelewski has been selected as the new Head Coach for the Y’s competitive aquatics program, YNS Sharks..
Dave joined YMCA of the North Shore as the swim team’s Associate Head Coach, working with swimmers primarily at the Marblehead YMCA training site. When the head coach position opened up, Dave assumed the leadership role.
Dave has a strong coaching background. He has held leadership coaching roles in Connecticut where he was the Developmental/Age Group Coach for the Wilton, CT YMCA, Head Age Group coach at the Cheshire, CT YMCA. He was also the Head Coach of the girls’ varsity swim team at Cheshire High School.
The YMCA of the North Shore’s Arthur Athanas said, “We are really excited for Dave to move into our swim team’s Head Coach role. His background coupled with the fact that he has already been with us for almost seven months enables him to build on an already strong program and effectively lead our swimmers as they reach their goals.”
The YNS Sharks swim team develops the best in swimmers through innovative coaching techniques and strategies, supportive parental involvement and integration of the core values of the YMCA: honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility. The team offers Pre-Competitive Team for grades K-8 and Competitive Swim Team for grades K-12
