Yoga for Swimmers: Yoga with Mitch Larkin and Madi Wilson

While on a recent trip to Australia I had the opportunity to spend time on deck with St Peters Western Swim Club. One of the aspects that is fairly unique about their training is how several of their best athletes have implemented yoga into their routine. World Championship medalists Mitch Larkin, Madi Wilson and Emma McKeon are all doing yoga on a regular basis with physiotherapist and yoga teacher Tom Barton.

In this video I talk to Barton talks about his approach and how the athletes have embraced developing their own personal practices. Along with the interview there are clips from a yoga session taught by Barton which included Larkin, Wilson and ME!

Jeff Grace Head Shot

Jeff Grace is the owner and operator of Excel with Grace which specializes in teaching sport specific and therapeutic yoga.

Jeff is trained in vinyasa (flow), hatha, yin, restorative and therapeutic yoga practices. He is also completing his 500 hour certification as a yoga therapist.

Jeff has been deeply immersed in the sport of swimming for decades. He has been coaching for over 20 years and has had athletes medal at both CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) Championships and Age Group Nationals.
