After Japan’s Miho Teramura broke the Championship Record in the 200 IM on Friday morning in prelims, swimming a 2:09.86, her 22-year old countrymate Yui Ohashi led 2 swimmers under the record in finals. Ohashi took the win in 2:08.16, while Canadian Sydney Pickrem finished 2nd in 2:09.07. Teramura matched her 2:09.86 from prelims exactly to tie her old record and personal best.
The record coming into the meet was a 2:09.93 done by Australian Emily Seebohm in 2010.

Pickrem’s runner-up time was a new Canadian Record.
Ohashi’s swim was .25 seconds short of her own National Record in the event of 2:07.91, set at last year’s World Championships.
