Yukiko Inui Shines in Tokyo with 7 Gold Medals

Yukiko Inui showed top form this weekend at the third leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2018 (from April 27-30) as the Japanese star collected seven gold medals.

Olympic silver medallist Inui was the best in both the solo technical and free routines and collected 90.3361 and 92.6670 points respectively. Evangelia Platanioti of Greece and Linda Cerutti of Italy then shared the silver and bronze medals at stake. Platanioti secured the second position in the technical routine with 87.3993. while she was third in the solo free with 89.7667.

Inui added both duet technical and free event to her Tokyo tally together with teammate Kanami Nakamaki. The pair scored 91.0427 (technical) and 92.4333 (free). Linda Cerruti/Costanza Ferro secured the second position in both duet events, while Spain’s Paula Ramirez/Sara Saldana Lopez  took bronze in the duet technical and the Greek girls Evangelia Papazoglou/Evangelia Platanioti were the last one on the duet free podium.

Italy’s Manila Flamini/Giorgio Minisini claimed both golds up for grabs in the mixed event. They were followed in this order by the Japanese Yumi Adachi/Atsushi Abe and Pau Ribes/Berta Ferreras Sanz of Spain.

The home team took gold in the team free, team technical and free combination events reaching each time above the 90 points mark.

France was the best in the Highlight event with 84.2667 points.
