Poti has put up some impressive times on the yards scene as well, holding personal bests of 48.33 and 1:45.85 in the 100y and 200y backstroke events, respectively. As for the butterfly events, his career-bests sit at 49.17 in the 100y and 1:53.35 in the 200y distances.
At the 2014 Florida High School Championships (District 3), Poti led-off his team’s 200 medley relay with an impressive 23.88 backstroke split and then went on to win the 100y fly and 100y backstroke individual titles.
After his trip out to Tempe, Poti told Florida Swim Network that “I knew where I was going. The team atmosphere was like none of the other teams I visited. It felt like a great place to swim.”
