- Pro Swim Series record: 14:53.12 – Jordan Wilimovsky, 2016
- 2020 Olympic Trials cut: 15:44.89
- Zane Grothe, BCH, 15:18.71

There was no catching Zane Grothe in this race, as he finished first by nearly 22 seconds. Grothe was out in 57.59, then held 1:02-lows for the next 800 yards before dropping to 1:01s. He was 4:03.88 at the 400 and 8:12.99 at the 800 before finishing in 15:18.71. His best time is 14:48.40 from the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships.
“for the next 800 yards” – did he take a diagonal turn and start swimming yards?
Training load should be prescribed based on recovery. If you’re not recovered and the coach/.swimmer just goes with day X of the microcycle planned months (even days) in advance, it’s overtraining. This is such old news. Conner Jaeger got a WHOOP and started targeting his training load to his recovery on a day to day basis in his runup to the Olympic success.
I thought you said motorcycle at first
No, that would be Motorcycle Man, and he —- at least temporarily—- redeemed himself.
I don’t care how “old news” this is. I never get tired of throwing more sleep in my kids’ faces. Please bring this so called old news as often as possible Swimswam. THANK YOU!
Just take their screens out of their face.
ok boomer
LMAO. longhorn fits the boomer so well
Might have to change my screen name, but that would screw up my Mexican and Danish brothers.
Blue light and recovery/sleep ain’t exactly Boomer.
If everyone stopped training mornings under-recovery wouldn’t be a thing
Not true. Any amount of training without sleep and ENOUGH QUALITY FOOD can become overtraining due to inability to recover. Doubles can be optimal, but only for those who take care of themselves properly. We now have tools that can help us to know when the rest is more important than the extra swim.
What are you doing… you’re sabotaging your own kind 🙁 I’m just tryna get some sleep man
I am betting that guy is a coach
And everyone would be sprintdudes.
Does USA swimming have nutritional and recovery guidelines for each elite athlete?
No?
Under recovery going to be the next buzz word.
This has been around. Just recycling now
lolzzzz
