They both said that Florian is very ambitious athlete and has the unconditional will to win. Köhler and Wellbrock are dating for about 2 years and live and train together in Magdeburg (Germany). While Sarah Köhler is studying law, Wellbrock completed an apprenticeship as a real estate agent. Regarding his victory bonuses, which he received for the world championship titles, he said with a smile that would be quite respectable for a monthly income for a 21-year-old. For his two world championship titles, over 10 km in open water and 1500m freestyle in the pool, he received 40.000 USD from the FINA prize money pot.
